OLES
Oles Ilchenko - writer, painter, screenwriter. He was born in Kyiv. Oles Ilchenko's paintings are stored in private collections in several European countries - in Switzerland, Monaco, Germany, Poland, France and others.

He lectured at the universities of Krakow, Geneva and Belgrade, exhibited his photographs in Krakow, and painted in Bern and Florence. He is the author of thirty-five books for adults and children (prose, poetry, popular science books), several screenplays - the film "I am who I am", "Desiderius. Life with Chimeras", "Black Book", etc.

Oles Ilchenko's novel "City with Chimeras" was recognized as the "Best Ukrainian Book of 2009", and he became a finalist in the "BBC Book of the Year 2010". The novel "Port of Gitana" is a finalist of the BBC Book of the Year 2020.

Oles Ilchenko's books - prose and poetry - were published in Great Britain
and Serbia. O. Ilchenko's poems have been translated into English (USA, Great Britain), German, French, Serbian, Lithuanian and Russian.

Winner of TEFI and Teletriumph TV awards. Member of PEN Ukraine.Oles Ilchenko has been living and working in Geneva, Switzerland since 2011.

He is fond of travel and cooking. Oles Ilchenko expressed his credo in one of his poems: "The earth wants to see more than the horizon allows."
